PopPop's Faith Adventures

A series of faith-based picture books for ages 3–6, following PopPop and his grandkids as everyday moments become windows into biblical truth. Each story starts in the ordinary—the boys, small discoveries, big feelings—and turns into a simple, meaningful conversation about who God is and how we can know about Him.

Written for read-aloud time, the books include kid-friendly language, emotionally honest themes, a conversation guide for after the story, and a bonus coloring page to help the story stick after the last page.

For families, grandparents, teachers, and bedtime routines that want more than noise—stories that feel warm, real, and anchored. Churches, childcare facilities, and schools will also find a perfect place for these books.

When I Feel...

Every child feels things they don't have words for yet. The When I Feel series gives families a way in — warm, honest picture books that take big emotions seriously and weave faith naturally into the moments that need it most.

Each book. One feeling. One truth. One small step forward.

God's Love Never Lets Go
A Story about God's Love and Being Safe in His Hands

It’s Saturday at PopPop’s house. That usually means one thing: outside.

When four-year-old Camden finds a roly-poly bug under a rock, he does what Camden always does—he flops down in the grass to get a closer look. Cruz wants to know why it curls up. PopPop kneels beside them and tells the truth:

It’s scared. It rolls up to stay safe.

Then something surprising happens.

When I'm Scared
A Story About Fear, Comfort, and a God Who Is Bigger

It starts at lunch with a low rumble in the distance… and then the sky turns dark. Rain slams the windows. Thunder shakes the house. And four-year-old Camden—usually the brave one—goes very still.

He doesn’t try to be tough. He doesn’t explain it away. He climbs straight into PopPop’s arms.

Under a quilt on the couch, with warm lamplight inside and the storm raging outside, PopPop doesn’t lecture Camden out of his fear—he holds him first. And little by little, Camden learns something kids can actually understand:

The Jacket that Remembers
A Christian Picture Book About Granny, Memory, and the God Who Is Always There

When Cruz asks to wear PopPop’s old plaid jacket, he also asks a bigger question: why does PopPop still keep it? On a quiet Saturday morning, PopPop shares the memory of Granny—the one who made hard days feel lighter just by being there.

As Cruz and Camden listen, they begin to see that God’s presence is like that too: steady, near, and full of comfort.

When I Feel... Afraid
God is With Me: A Comforting Story for Kids Facing New Experiences

A Christian children’s book about fear, courage, and God’s presence, When I Feel Afraid: God Is With Me helps kids ages 4–8 face big feelings with biblical comfort and simple truth.

When a child stands at the doorway of a new classroom, everything feels unfamiliar. The room is noisy. The people are new. The child wants to be brave—but does not feel ready. With the gentle reminder of Joshua 1:9, this faith-based picture book shows children that being afraid does not mean being alone.

When I Feel...Sad
God is Close to Me: A Gentle Story About Loss

A gentle Christian picture book for children ages 4–8 about sadness, loss, and the comfort of God’s presence.

When I Feel Sad: God Is Close to Me is a gentle Christian picture book for ages 4–8 that helps children understand sadness through a tender story of loss, love, and God’s nearness.

When a little boy loses his favorite stuffed bear, his sadness is real. His dad does not rush to fix it or tell him to move on. He stays close, listens well, and gently shares a comforting truth from Scripture: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” — Psalm 34:18

When I Feel...Worried
God Already Knows: A Christian Bedtime Story About Worry, Prayer, and God’s Peace

Some nights, the what-ifs won't stop.

A little boy lies awake in the bed in a quiet house. What if it's hard? What if something goes wrong? One worry pops up — and then another, and another, until his mind just won't quit.

Then Grandma knocks softly and sits on the edge of his bed. She doesn't tell him not to worry. She tells him something better — that she gets the what-ifs too. And that she learned a long time ago to give them to Someone who already knows what tomorrow looks like.
